Terms of Use

Last updated: April 2026

1. Service Description

Untap is a service that helps users identify potential refunds and compensation they may be entitled to by analysing their financial transactions and email confirmations. The service provides guidance on how to claim these amounts but does not file claims on behalf of users.

We analyse data you provide to identify potential savings opportunities. We do not guarantee that any identified savings will result in actual refunds or compensation. The success of any claim depends on various factors including eligibility criteria set by third parties.

Early access notice. Untap is currently an early-stage product (MVP). You may encounter bugs, incomplete features, or inaccurate results. We rely on you to flag anything that looks wrong and to double-check our suggestions before acting on them.

2. AI Processing and Human Judgement

Untap uses artificial intelligence (large language models provided by OpenAI) to read the booking confirmations, statements, and documents you submit, and to draft claim letters and appeal text. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or miss context. We treat every figure we show -- delay minutes, compensation amounts, claim deadlines, eligibility -- as a suggestion, not a binding calculation.

You are responsible for reviewing anything Untap surfaces before submitting a claim or appeal. Before you send a claim letter we prepared, read it end-to-end, verify the facts, and adjust anything that does not match your situation. You remain the decision-maker on every claim.

We process your submitted data through OpenAI under OpenAI's commercial API terms. Under those terms, OpenAI does not use your content to train its models and deletes API inputs and outputs after a short retention window. See our Privacy Policy for the full data-flow description.

3. Not Legal, Tax, or Financial Advice

Untap is an information tool, not a law firm, claims management company, accountant, or financial adviser. Nothing Untap shows you constitutes legal, tax, regulatory, or financial advice. We are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), or the Claims Management Regulator.

If your situation is high-value, complex, or disputed, you should seek independent professional advice before relying on anything we surface. For free guidance, Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk) and MoneyHelper (moneyhelper.org.uk) are good starting points.

Untap does not lodge, file, submit, or escalate claims on your behalf. Every claim action -- clicking "submit" on an operator form, sending a letter, signing a declaration -- is performed by you.

4. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of data you provide to us. You must only upload data that belongs to you or for which you have appropriate authorisation.

You agree not to use the service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the service. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or any systems connected to it.

5. Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the information provided through our service.

We do not guarantee that you will recover any money through using our service. Claims are subject to the terms and conditions of third-party companies and regulatory frameworks.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the service, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, are owned by Untap or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of any data you upload to the service. By uploading data, you grant us a limited licence to process this data solely for the purpose of providing the service.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Untap shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your data and account through the settings page. We may terminate or suspend your access to the service at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease, and we will delete your data in accordance with our privacy policy.

9. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
